Gurmesh Singh MP

Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh said a $50,000 State Government grant will deliver much-needed improvements at Gamumbi Early Childhood Education Centre.

Mr Singh said the funding, allocated under the Community Building Partnership Program, is for the refurbishment of the staff bathroom and showering facilities at the Toormina-based centre.

“This is fantastic news for the management, staff, parents and children who are all part of the Gamumbi ECEC family,” Mr Singh said.

“I’m very pleased to announce the staff bathroom will be refurbished including additional storage, hot water connection to the shower, as well as replacement of a broken entry door with an access door.

“I congratulate the entire Gamumbi team on their successful funding application – I know their project will make a big difference at the centre.

“This grassroots funding will directly help to bring about positive outcomes in our local community.”

Gamumbi is a small, not-for-profit early childhood education centre and long day care service which has been operating at the heart of the Toormina community since 1985.

The NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program has funded more than 16,000 community projects since it commenced in 2009.
