Minister for Energy Penny Sharpe has sensationally admitted that energy prices in NSW have gone up 20 per cent, despite wholesale prices dropping by 50 per cent, said Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh.
Under questioning from NSW Nationals Upper House MP Wes Fang at Budget Estimates today, Minister Sharpe said the price increase was funding Labor’s botched renewables rollout.
Energy prices continue to go up under Premier Chris Minns and Minister Sharpe, yet they’re unwilling to accept any valid criticism of their energy policies.
People have every right to be angry at the lack of urgency the Minns Labor Government continues to show for households and businesses that are paying massive energy bills.
The NSW Nationals demand transparency and fairer energy prices for our community.
People across the Coffs Coast are crying out for cheaper, more reliable energy, and under the Minns Labor Government, they’re getting neither.
