SPECIAL EVENT BRINGS COFFS COAST WOMEN TOGETHER

Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh said he’s proud to support Boambee East Community Centre’s celebration of NSW Women’s Week with their special event today.

Mr Singh said the centre successfully applied for $3740 under the State Government’s 2021 NSW Women’s Week Grants for the Nyami (Woman) Empowerment Circle and Day of Inspiration.

“I’m extremely pleased this event is part of the $100,000 Women’s Week Grants program to promote and support women’s education, employment and wellbeing,” Mr Singh said.

“NSW Women’s Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the diverse contributions of women across the Coffs Coast. Boambee East Community Centre is certainly playing its part in these celebrations.

“It’s important for all of us to reflect on the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and to promote gender equality.”

Minister for Women Bronnie Taylor said the wide-ranging events during Women’s Week across the state are helping communities connect and celebrate the diverse contributions of local women.

“From the paddock to the playground, the boardroom to the building site, women are at the heart of our vision to build a safer, stronger New South Wales,” Mrs Taylor said.

Events support at least one of the key priorities of the NSW Women’s Strategy 2018-2022 by improving women’s financial wellbeing and security, encouraging a holistic approach to health and wellbeing or helping women to build confidence and celebrate their achievements.
