A FAIR GO FOR OUR COMMUNITY PRESCHOOLS

Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh calls on the Minns Labor Government to help our community preschools keep their doors open.

Mr Singh said he supports the campaign for increased NSW Government funding to boost wages for early childhood teachers in our community preschools.

They are currently paid 30 per cent less than teachers in other sectors despite having the same qualifications.

“This is simply unfair and is creating a staffing crisis in our community preschools,” Mr Singh said.

“Our educators deserve better and our children deserve stability and quality in their early education.

“The Government’s refusal to adequately fund this important sector places the future of community preschools and quality education at risk.

“Every child should have access to passionate, qualified educators, and I will continue to advocate for the support our preschools need.

“These preschools are more than places of learning – they’re a vital part of our children’s lives and the heart of our community.

“I urge the Minns Labor Government to fund community preschools fairly so they can pay our incredible teachers and educators what they truly deserve.”
