Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh said a significant lighting project will now take shape at one of the Coffs Coast’s most picturesque sporting arenas.
Mr Singh said the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund has allocated $226,478 to Orara Valley Progress Association for its exciting project to upgrade the lighting at Coramba Sportsground.
Mr Singh said he was delighted the State Government had given the green light to this important community-led initiative.
“This funding will bring the lighting on the main field at Coramba Sportsground up to national lighting standards that will allow for multi sports to be played, and to allow the second field to be available for night use,” Mr Singh said.
“I congratulate the hardworking team at the Orara Valley Progress Association. By working together, these volunteers are actively helping to improve the resources and facilities available to the local community.
“They welcome ideas for projects within the Valley and are to be commended for their passion, dedication and commitment to seeing this beautiful part of the Coffs Coast continue to prosper.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW Paul Toole said 435 projects across every single one of the state’s 93 regional Local Government Areas (LGAs) would receive funding under Stronger Country Communities Fund Round Four.
“The Stronger Country Communities Fund delivers guaranteed investment in every single regional LGA in NSW, and has seen $500 million invested across more than 1900 local projects since 2017,” Mr Toole said.
The Stronger Country Communities Fund is part of the $2 billion Regional Growth Fund, which alongside the $4.2 billion Snowy Hydro Legacy Fund is delivering infrastructure and programs that generate opportunities, investment and jobs.
