BOOST FOR COFFS/CLARENCE POLICE

The arrival of two new police on the Coffs Coast is a welcome boost for local law enforcement, said Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh.

The probationary constables start their duties at Coffs/Clarence Police District next week following today’s attestation ceremony at Goulburn Police Academy.

Mr Singh, the Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, said he wishes the new recruits every success as they start their chosen career and settle into the local community they’re serving.

“I know these two new officers will be warmly welcomed by their Coffs/Clarence Police colleagues and the communities across our region,” Mr Singh said.

“I’m extremely proud of all our police for serving the Coffs Coast which such distinction, professionalism and dedication.

“Policing can be a difficult and dangerous job with enormous challenges. These officers put their lives on the line to keep the community safe, and I thank them for it.”

Our new recruits report for work from Monday 21 August. They will then complete 12 months’ on-the-job training and study by distance education with Charles Sturt University.

They officially graduate with an Associate Degree in Policing Practice once they have passed all academic and operation standards. The officers will then be confirmed to the rank of constable.
