In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Coffs Harbour community, Helen Mears has been named the NSW 2021 joint Senior Volunteer of the Year.
Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh said the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards recognise the tireless dedication individuals and organisations make, to make their communities a better place.
“Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, Helen has gone above and beyond in her volunteering efforts to support the Coffs Coast community,” Mr Singh said.
“When the vaccination program was rolled out at Coffs Harbour Health Campus, Helen volunteered her time to pack care packs for all staff who were receiving the vaccine.
“We are extremely grateful for her continued commitment to our local community and I congratulate Helen on this prestigious recognition.” See next page for more details on Helen Mears.
