COFFS SHOOTS PAST 70% FIRST DOSE

Following the release of the latest vaccination data, 72.8% of Coffs Harbour LGA residents have rolled up their sleeves to get vaccinated and 42.1% of eligible people are fully vaccinated.
At current rates, we will be pass 80% first dose by the end of next week.
Vaccination rates in the Coffs Harbour LGA are behind other LGA’s in our area and are about 10% behind Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA.
To book a vaccine appointment, please use the following link.
Reminder: there is a walk-in vaccination clinic for teachers and school staff at CEX Coffs Harbour Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week.
If anyone is undecided or hesitant about the vaccines, ask yourself this question – if you broke your leg, would you pull out your phone and see what facebook thinks about it, or would you see a doctor? You cannot trust social media for medical advice – please talk to a doctor. Vaccines save lives.
We all have a responsibility to protect our vulnerable, particularly the children who can not get vaccinated for Covid-19.
We have a responsibility to our health care workers not to place their health at an unnecessary risk and over burden our health care system.
We all have the power to look after our community, no one wants to get a vaccine for the sake of it, we are getting a vaccine for our health, our families, our neighbours, friends and community.
‼️LOCAL CASE UPDATE
I spoke to the Deputy Premier this evening about whether Coffs Harbour might be going into lockdown. At this point, a decision hasn’t been made. NSW Health is still reviewing all the circumstances around this persons infection – obviously lockdown is a last resort and we are committed to making sure it remains safe to stay open.
I will let everybody know if I have any further updates.
