Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh congratulates our successful Coffs Coast applicants awarded a 2020-21 Early Childhood Education Scholarship.
Mr Singh said Ms Stevie King and Ms Laura Goodenough will each receive up to $20,000 in funding to help with the costs of study, making it easier to commence or upgrade their qualifications to a bachelor degree in early childhood teaching.
“Early childhood education is so important for our community,” Mr Singh said.
“Educators play a vital role in the early years of our littlest learners. These scholarships will help our successful applicants be the best they can be and use their knowledge every day to enhance the learning experience for the children they educate.
“I am thrilled to congratulate our local candidates who have been successful and wish them well in their studies.
“It’s great news for families and for our local community.”
Minister for Education and Early Learning Sarah Mitchell said the scholarship program is part of the NSW Government’s support for the early childhood sector, ensuring a sustainable highly qualified early childhood workforce into the future.
“More highly trained educators will support more of our children, so they can achieve their best in the crucial early years and later in life,” Ms Mitchell said.
