Today the NSW Nationals elected Paul Toole to replace John Barilaro as our leader, with Bronnie Taylor MLC appointed as his deputy.
I have worked very closely with both Members in the past few years, and I am delighted that they have been given the responsibility of leading our party forward.
There is no doubt that John leaves very big shoes to fill, and regional NSW has received unprecedented levels of investment under his leadership.
I have no doubt that we will continue this legacy under Paul’s leadership.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the toughest challenges our state has ever faced, and for our region it comes on the back of a crippling drought and severe floods and storms.
There’s light at the end of the tunnel but what we need right now is calm and stable leadership. I’m confident that Paul and Bronnie are the people for the job.
