MORE POLICE ARE WELCOME ON THE COFFS COAST

Three new probationary constables will start their duties in the Coffs/Clarence Police District next week after today’s attestation ceremony at the Goulburn Police Academy.

Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh, Shadow Minister for Tourism, Emergency Services and the North Coast, welcomes the new police officers to the Coffs Coast.

“These three new recruits are joining the outstanding team at Coffs/Clarence Police District, which goes above and beyond every day to keep our local community safe,” Mr Singh said.

“Policing can be a difficult and dangerous job and we are grateful to all our police officers for putting their lives on the line as they serve with distinction.

“I thank our new officers for the frontline work they will be undertaking. We are indeed indebted to them for protecting and serving the people of the Coffs Coast.

“This is wonderful news for our region.”

The new recruits, who report for duty from Monday 26 June, are among 97 new probationary constables in Class 358.

They will complete 12 months’ on-the-job training and study by distance education with Charles Sturt University.

They officially graduate with an Associate Degree in Policing Practice once they have passed all academic and operation standards. The officers will then be confirmed to the rank of constable.
