MORE POLICE FOR THE COFFS COAST

Three new probationary constables have begun their duties with the Coffs Clarence Police District after last week’s Goulburn Police Academy attestation ceremony.

Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh welcomes the new police officers to the Coffs Coast.

“I congratulate them on choosing the NSW Police Force as a career and I’m glad they’re making their new home in our community,” Mr Singh said.

“These officers are a welcome boost for frontline policing in the Coffs Clarence Police District, where they join an outstanding team of men and women.

“Our police put their lives on the line every day as they fight crime and keep our streets safe, and I thank them for the important duties they are performing.”

Deputy Premier and Minister for Police Paul Toole congratulated the newest recruits.

“Police officers on the frontline serve and protect our communities right across the State every day,” Mr Toole said.

“We don’t often see a major event or emergency without also seeing the men and women in blue on the ground doing what they can, whether it’s responding to a natural disaster like the current flooding crisis, a car accident or a public protest or major event.

“The NSW Government is proud to support this new Class of probationary constables as they embark on their careers.”

The NSW Government announced in 2019 the delivery of 1500 additional officers over four years to enhance community safety across NSW.

Class 351 includes 133 men and 60 women. Some recruits entered the NSW Police Academy straight from school or university, while others left established professional careers and trades.

The recruits have completed eight months of foundational training and those allocated to police commands and districts reported to their stations on Monday, 7 March.
