MORE POLICE ON THEIR WAY TO THE COFFS COAST

Six new probationary constables will start their duties in the Coffs/Clarence Police District after attesting at today’s formal ceremony at the Goulburn Police Academy.

Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh welcomes the new police officers to the Coffs Coast.

“These new recruits are joining the outstanding team at Coffs/Clarence Police District which goes above and beyond every day to keep our community safe,” Mr Singh said.

“Policing can be a dangerous and challenging job and we are indebted to all our police officers for putting their lives on the line as they serve with distinction.

“I thank our new officers for the vital frontline work they will be undertaking. We are indeed indebted to them for stepping up to protect and serve members of our community.

“This is tremendous news for our region.”

The new recruits, who report for duty from Monday 1 May, are among 221 new probationary constables in the first class to attest in 2023 at the Goulburn academy.

They will be deployed to police stations across the state from next week where they will complete their first year of on-the-job training.
