Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh said the NSW Government is providing $25,000 for a multicultural project supporting our local community.
Mr Singh said the Coffs Harbour-based Aquatic Tutoring Australia has been allocated the funding under the Multicultural NSW Stronger Together Grants Program.
“I congratulate Aquatic Tutoring Australia on its successful grant for the Aquatic Angels project,” Mr Singh said.
“This initiative helps to advance aquatic opportunities for individuals, providing resources, workshops and free aquatic experiences such as swimming lessons and mentoring to members of our refugee and migrant communities.
“It’s services like these which support some of the most vulnerable members of our community and have kept us together during unprecedented times.
“It’s about making a difference in our community at the grassroots level and promoting social cohesion and community harmony.”
Mr Singh said our multicultural community organisations are an important feature of society, providing support, care and connection for our diverse community members.
The Stronger Together Grants Program will also help Hockey NSW, and NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors, to run programs in centres including Coffs Harbour.
