PFIZER WALK-IN CLINIC

VAX HUB
The Local Health District will be running a walk-in COVID-19 vaccination clinic at C.ex Coffs this weekend (25 and 26 September) offering the Pfizer vaccine for people aged 16-59.
The walk-in clinic will operate from 9am to 4pm. No appointment is necessary, just bring your Medicare card and photo ID.
NEW CASE UPDATE
There is one new case in Coffs Harbour, and is a close contact of an earlier case diagnosed in Coffs Harbour on the weekend. The person has been isolating since Saturday and was not infectious in the community.
We ask the community to please remain vigilant and continue to practise COVID-safe measures at all times.
Get tested at the earliest sign of symptoms such as a runny nose, scratchy throat, fever, headache, cough or loss of taste and smell. Remember, after being tested you must isolate until you receive a negative result.
Why aren’t we in lockdown?
Although the latest case was acquired here, they are a close contact of an existing case and have been in isolation the whole time. This means they pose very little risk – therefore we haven’t been put into lockdown yet. But this does not mean our situation can’t change at short notice.
Why haven’t any contact venues been listed?
If a COVID positive case has visited a venue, NSW Health will work directly with the venue to work out whether they can contact everyone who was there. In tightly controlled venues like a Dr’s clinic, they have accurate records of who is in the venue and they can contact each person and give them instructions of what they need to do. In other situations, if it is more difficult to be sure of the contacts at a venue, they can list it publicly as a ‘venue of concern’.
Are the vaccines safe and effective?
Yes. But if you’re unsure, please talk to a medical professional.
Why is vaccination important?
Aside from it protecting your own health if you get the virus, it also prevents our hospital system from getting overwhelmed with Covid patients. Getting vaccinated also slows the spread of the virus and can help protect our most vulnerable.
