Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh has welcomed funding to support vulnerable people and multicultural communities on the Coffs Coast.
Mr Singh said the grants, under Round 2 of the NSW Government’s Empowering and Supporting Local Communities program, are awarded for grassroots community projects helping those in need.
The successful local organisations and projects are:
“Our local community is all the richer for the work of these local organisations,” Mr Singh said.
“These grants will help the helpers. The funds will support many volunteers in our community who are making a difference in these difficult times.
“I commend these community groups for their incredible work supporting vulnerable people who have faced unprecedented hardship during the pandemic.”
As many as 85 grassroots community projects worth more than $1.8 million have been funded under the latest round of the Multicultural NSW Empowering and Supporting Local Communities Grants Program.
These grassroots projects will support our communities as we continue to reopen and re-energise our State, Mr Singh said.
“We are providing funding to the organisations who know their communities best and are best placed to address their needs on the ground.”
