SURF CLUB UPGRADE ON THE WAY

Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club is celebrating a $56,575 grant under the NSW Surf Club Facility Program, said Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh.

The club is among 32 across NSW to share in more than $5 million towards the upgrade, restoration or construction of facilities under this NSW Government program.

Mr Singh, the Shadow Minister for Emergency Services, congratulates Coffs Harbour Surf Club and its membership on this great news.

“This funding will help the surf club with its project to upgrade the clubhouse electrical powerboards,” Mr Singh said.

“This includes the main board on the external rear wall and two subsidiary boards in the kitchen and bar areas.

“The electrical powerboards are currently at capacity. The proposed new ones are safe, compliant and more efficient.

“This project will enhance the integrity of the electrical system, improve operational sustainability and allow for future expansion at this iconic club.”

The Surf Club Facility Program helps surf life saving clubs develop facilities that encourage increased participation and facility usage as well as improve community safety.

“Surf clubs and their volunteers deserve to have modern, inclusive and accessible facilities,” Mr Singh said.
