Surf life saving clubs can apply for their share of $5.25 million in funding for the upgrade, restoration or construction of facilities across the Coffs Coast.

Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh said applications are now open for the Surf Club Facility Program with grants of up to $1 million up for grabs.

“We already know we’re in for a hot summer, and it’s critical our surf clubs have what they need to protect the influx of beachgoers in the coming months,” said Mr Singh, Shadow Minister for Tourism, Emergency Services and the North Coast.

“This program is about making sure our local clubs have the resources they require, including facilities that are modern, accessible and fit for purpose.

“Our local volunteer surf lifesavers are incredibly dedicated and committed to keeping our community safe and any support we can give them is extremely important.

“This funding will continue to build on the enormous investment made by the former Liberals and Nationals Government, so I would encourage our clubs on the Coffs Coast to apply.”

Applicants can tap into various funding streams, with Category 1 for facility improvements under $100,000 and Categories 2 and 3 for larger construction projects up to and above $500,000.

Applications for Category 1 close Monday 11 December 2023 and applications for Categories 2 and 3 will close on Wednesday 31 January 2024.
