Coffs Coast surf clubs are encouraged to apply for their share of $5.4 million in funding statewide for the upgrade, restoration or construction of facilities.
Member for Coffs Harbour Gurmesh Singh said applications are now open for the Surf Club Facility Program with grants of up to $1 million up for grabs.
“We already know we’re in for a hot summer, and it’s critical our surf life saving clubs are prepared for the influx of beachgoers in the coming months,” said Mr Singh, the Shadow Minister for Emergency Services.
“This program is about making sure those clubs have the resources they need, including facilities that are modern, accessible and fit for purpose.
“Our local volunteer surf lifesavers are incredibly dedicated and committed to keeping our community safe and any support we can give them is extremely important.
“This funding will continue to build on the enormous investment made by the former Liberal and Nationals Government, so I would encourage clubs across the Coffs Coast to apply.”
Applicants can apply for various funding streams, with Category 1 for facility improvements under $100,000, Category 2 for projects up to $500,000 and category 3 for large construction projects above $500,000.
Applications close for Category 1 at 1pm on 14 October and Categories 2 and 3 close at 1pm on 11 November.
